Retreat 2025
An Inspiring Fusion of Minds at the third Annual Scientific Retreat in Waischenfeld
Our team recently returned from an invigorating scientific retreat in the picturesque setting of Waischenfeld, nestled in the heart of Franconian Switzerland. This annual gathering has become a cornerstone of our Gut-Brain research community, bringing together principal investigators, students, and clinicians for a dynamic exchange of ideas and research findings.
The agenda was packed with engaging talks by our own members as well as invited guest speakers, allowing participants to share their latest work and receive feedback from a diverse, multidisciplinary audience. The vibrant poster sessions showcased the breadth of research being conducted within our network and fostered one-on-one conversations and deeper dives into specific topics. The community also voted on their favourite poster presentation and thus we were able to determine this year’s poster prize winners: Bruno Ghirotto, Marie Andert, Emely Elisa Neumaier, and Luís Eduardo Duarte Gonçalves. Their outstanding presentations are a testament to the high caliber of research being conducted within our community.
This retreat served as a valuable opportunity to connect the Gut and Brain Axis, share fresh insights, and further strengthen our collaborations. The formal presentations and informal networking opportunities have undoubtedly laid the groundwork for new discoveries and continued teamwork. A sincere thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this year’s retreat. The enthusiasm and collaborative spirit were palpable, and we are excited to see the fruits of the connections made and ideas sparked in Waischenfeld. Here’s to another year of discovery and collaboration!
