KFO5024 at the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2025

On October 25th, the KFO5024 team participated in this year’s Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften, an event that once again turned Erlangen into a hub of scientific discovery and public engagement.

Throughout the evening, our researchers presented insights into their ongoing work on the gut-brain axis. Visitors had the opportunity to explore our research through interactive displays, hands-on demonstrations, and personal conversations with our scientists at their booths as well as during presentations by our speakers Prof. Beate Winner and Prof. Claudia Günther, Prof. Friederike Zunke as well as our student representative Luís Goncalves.

The lively discussions and genuine curiosity from the audience made the event a great success. We were delighted to see how much interest there is in translational research and in understanding how fundamental discoveries in the lab can lead to improved patient care.

Should you still be looking for one of our (in-)famous brain hats, look no further!

We would like to thank all visitors for their engagement and questions, as well as the organizers of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften for creating such a stimulating atmosphere for science communication.

We are already looking forward to participating again next time!
